What is the difference between soffit and fascia?

Soffit is the finished surface on the underside of your roof's overhang — what you see when you look up under the eaves. Fascia is the long board along the edge of the roof, directly behind the gutters, that forms the roofline you see from the street.

Should soffit and fascia be replaced with new siding?

Often, yes. Once old siding comes off, problems at the roof edge — aging wood, poor ventilation, outdated flashing or hidden moisture — are exposed. Replacing soffit and fascia with the siding gives you one sealed, matching system instead of new siding next to old trim.

Vented or solid soffit — which do I need?

Vented soffit lets air move into the attic through the eaves, which helps control heat and moisture. Solid soffit is used where ventilation isn't needed, such as porch ceilings. We look at your attic ventilation and recommend the right mix.

Why aluminum instead of wood?

Aluminum won't rot, crack, split or warp, and it never needs painting. Wood soffit and fascia need regular scraping and repainting and are one of the first places moisture damage shows up.
