Our Story Since 1985
1985
Brian D. Girskis founds Suburban Construction in Bettendorf after working at Associated Materials, the manufacturer behind the windows and siding we still install.
1997
Main operations move to Davenport, with one of the most comprehensive showrooms between Chicago and Denver.
2002
JR Girskis joins full-time as General Manager after graduating from the University of Iowa.
2007
JR is promoted to President and continues the family's commitment to doing what's best for the customer.
2021
We open a purpose-built, 30,000 sq ft complex at 3602 North Harrison in Davenport with a full-scale showroom and installer training facilities.
Today
More than 40,000 installations across the Quad Cities and a 90-mile radius — most of our work comes from referrals and repeat customers.
Meet the Owners
Suburban isn't a call center or a national franchise. It's led by JR Girskis, President and Owner, who grew up in the business his father founded, and Darin Wilson, Co-Owner and Vice President.
JR is still most comfortable on a job site. Darin's favorite part of the job is still sitting at a customer's kitchen table — no pitch, just an honest conversation about what the home needs.

We Handle Warranty Claims
Products carry their own manufacturer warranties. You call us, we inspect at no charge and deal with the manufacturer for you.
Crews Trained In-House
Our Davenport complex includes training facilities, so our installation teams stay current on techniques and products.

Our Davenport showroom has full-size windows, doors and siding on display. Open and close the windows, compare glass packages and hold siding samples up to the light — then talk it through with the people who will install it.
